Re: Using fold back/monitors
Hi Val Thank you for your interest and your question about testing. I have had my PA system a number of years for live music use. I have also run CD and karaoke music through it. The system I have includes 2 x 18 Bass bins but I no longer have the space to carry them. I may have to add a bass speake...

Re: New startup
Well progress.
I bought 145 various CDG disks second hand and then the Vocal Star series of 1350 songs for £99 plus 600 songs for £21
That gives me about 2800 songs without duplicates for £220. The quality varies so I will keep a particular look out for substandard
songs and replace them.

Re: Using fold back/monitors
I am amazed that few Karaoke setups don't use monitors. So you are enjoying a busy evening with a lot of back ground noise and because your speakers have to be set back behind the microphone so that the singers can hear themselves you become extremely prone to feedback as you try to get the whole sy...

Using fold back/monitors
Thank you for all the interest from my previous post regarding starting up. It does appear that many Karaoke businesses come from a DJ background and therefore unlikely to use fold back monitors. My question is how many members here use fold back monitors as from my live musical experience they are ...

Re: New startup
Hi Wolfy,
Thanks again for your interest, I appreciate the friendly community.
I will endeavour to update the forum with progress. At some point I will have a technical reahersal and then a warm up gig.
Can’t wait to make it all happen,
Robbie

Re: New startup
Hope to gig by February next year. I agree the Celestion Sr-1’s do have a very flat sound which I have always found excellent for vocals. However I appreciate The backing tracks have to be well presented too and that may be more of a challenge I do also have a 32 band stereo graphic to employ and a ...

Re: New startup
The speakers are Celestion SR-1
2 x 500W 8ohm for out front.
2 x 250W 8ohm Celestion SR-3 for monitors.
The main amp is C-Audio, I think.
Monitor amp Hill.
Always sounded good live or with recorded music,

Re: New startup
Hi Wolfy, Thank you for your reply again. Yes the PA includes speakers, powered separately as well as a as a pair of speakers for monitors. Both controllable separately. I do have a pair of sub bass bins too which would make it a 3K System but no amp to go with it at the moment. I appreciate your ad...

Re: New startup
Hi Wolfy, Thank you for your lengthy reply. I do have a high quality PA system which I have previously used for live music. This is a 1K system out front and 500W Monitor system which I intent to use to give performers the best sound quality. Both will be entirely mixable front end and monitors. I c...
