UK Karaoke Introduction
The UK Karaoke label released a small set of discs. However, this entitles them to have an info and reviews page.
The firm responsible for the distribution of this label is Stellar Records. They also produced karaoke discs under the Pop Hits Monthly label.
We have a list of UK Karaoke disc ID numbers (prefixes), but there appear to be many gaps in the series. We thank those who sent in their karaoke lists to us, but we would like more information about this karaoke label.
What’s In A Name?
Due to the lack of information, you would think this karaoke label suggests the name ‘United Kingdom Karaoke’. However, some say that it is ‘United Karaoke’.
Although the label on these discs suggests that this firm only covered British artists, they didn’t. You can see that from the songbook (see below). For example, this collection has a disc that features American singer John Cougar Mellencamp.
Despite the karaoke label’s name, The Beatles don’t appear to have any songs on these discs. However, The Rolling Stones have quite a showing. Because of the artists, we agree with the name ‘United Karaoke’.
The UK Karaoke label no longer produces any CDGs. However, we have a staff member who owns two of these discs. Those discs have the dates 1995 and 2002 on them. That was the karaoke heyday, of course. So, you need to look on the internet to grab these discs on the second-hand market.

UK Karaoke Review
Before we tested this label, we thought it could be about the British invasion of America in the 1960s. Then we assumed they were solely UK artists, but we were wrong. Be that as it may, we will sample a few songs to see how they perform. That is what our interest is, of course.
The splash screen greets you with the company name. It also has the song title but no artist names. We only tried The Rolling Stones’ songs for the test, but if you have these discs, you could comment below with your very own assessment of them.
The splash screen is bright red but is replaced abruptly with a blue screen for the lyrics. That is too much of a contrast, in our opinion. However, we found the on-screen lyrics to largely match up with the beat. So, there are not too many issues there. The choice of backing music was decent because we discovered the tracks were crystal clear and dynamic. So, the only real downfall is the lack of discs!
The artwork escapes us. That is because the discs our colleague has are in plastic sleeves. The CDGs are all similar, but on the bland side. We can only mark them based on what we see. So, if you have any outer sleeves, let us know.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is UK3112-02 – Mariah Carey – Love Takes Time.

Desirability Factor
If you like the songs on these discs, we think you will enjoy playing them. They are good enough for gigging and home use.
To Sum Up
In brief, we have very little information to go on with these discs. Looking at the list, this set of CDGs appears to have many discs missing from the sequence. So, do you know anything about the UK Karaoke label? If you do, let us know, but also tell us what you think of the karaoke versions they produced.
We don’t think they are too bad, so we recommend them. However, with so few discs available, finding them is difficult.
