Turn Up The Music Karaoke Introduction
DJ’s Choice (AKA Turn Up The Music Karaoke) made a small contribution to the karaoke world with its collection of CDGs.
The disc label clearly shows DJ’s Choice Karaoke, but the disc ID (prefix) is TUTM. With this in mind, we list the whole series as Turn Up The Music Karaoke. It does not matter in reality because either name will suffice.
Without further ado, let’s continue with the rest of the information. We also have a review for this karaoke collection. Because you want to know how these discs perform, right?
It seems strange that a karaoke firm would call their karaoke discs ‘DJ Choice’. Of course, some disc jockeys (DJs) can do karaoke gigs. However, a DJ usually plays recorded songs. In contrast, a KJ is a karaoke jockey. Of course, a KJ gets audience participation by singing songs. Perhaps the label should have been KJ Choice!
Also, note that these discs contain guide vocals and have few tracks. So, should one of these discs boast ten karaoke tracks, you will only get five unique songs.

Here, we list the Turn Up The Music Karaoke disc ID numbers (prefixes). They are typical of how karaoke jockeys (KJs) list them in their songbooks. However, please be aware that the list is quite old, and if any discs are missing from this list, let us know.

Turn Up The Music Karaoke Review
You get two splash screens with the TUTM karaoke series. The first gives you the DJ’s Choice logo with the type or genre of the track.
Then you get the Company logo again with the song title “in the style of (the artist)”. The music starts pretty soon, so they were economical with those screens.
The on-screen lyrics could have filled the screen a little more. After all, some people may have poor eyesight. Indeed, it’s not as if the ink was short!
Onto the musical content, was our review squad happy with the music? You bet they were! Not only that, but the on-screen lyrics matched the beat impeccably. That is what karaoke is all about. It’s such a shame they didn’t make more CDGs.
The on-screen lyrics usually are over to the left of the screen. Also, the colour scheme is different, just like the splash screens. The artwork on the sleeves is beautiful. The CDGs are dull, with a large microphone at the bottom. There are a few colourful ones, though.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is TUTM1401-2-01 – Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles.

To Sum Up
Looking at our list of discs above, maybe some are missing from the Turn Up The Music Karaoke collection.
If you see any CDG missing from our list, let us know. We are looking for disc prefix numbers and tracklistings.
We found plenty of these discs for sale on the web, and prices were reasonable at the time (September 2014). Because they don’t have any particular theme, in other words, just a random collection, they should be cheap.

Official Review By Julie: TUTM Karaoke.
Hi, my name is Julie, and I conducted the original karaoke review above. Whether you agree or disagree, you can leave your review below.
Found Disc TUTM 1583-2
I Found the disc TUTM 1583-2 in my collection (not in your list above). Titled Ultimate Hits. 10 Tracks, 5 Karaoke and 5 karaoke with vocals. The tracks are as follows 1. Roy Orbison – Oh Prety Woman, 2. Mary Wells – My Guy, 3. Rick James – Super Freak, 4. En Vogue –; My Lovin’ (Never Gonna Get It) and 5. Lynyrd Skynyrd – Sweet Home Alabama. As I said, tracks 6 – 10 are these same songs in order, but with backing vocals. Not a bad selection of songs, but the open credit screen lasts too long for my liking.
