Supercore Karaoke Introduction
Supercore Karaoke released 54 CDGs. They stem from the ‘golden age of karaoke‘ when many firms produced CDGs. Just like the vast majority of those, Supercore also ceased production.
We know very little about the company behind the disc production, except that they were a British firm. However, the discs have the stamp “Made in the USA.” They were also part of the A-Major group, which we shall discuss after the review below.
They released above average for one of the smaller karaoke companies.
Making over 50 CDGs was an excellent effort, indeed. But are they worth collecting? Read on for our official review and more information.
To Buy Or Not To Buy
Supercore Karaoke discs are still available online, and we saw some great bargains (2014). We can’t guarantee they are still showing online, but Amazon was selling a 16-disc set, described as new, for $17.99 US, which equates to £11.20 in the UK ($19.50 AUS).
Indeed, there were many second-hand discs on eBay. Also, a firm in Canada was selling single discs, but they were expensive.
In effect, compulsive karaoke disc collectors love a trip like this one. There are over fifty discs to collect in this Supercore series. Therefore, it could be a good acquisition for some. However, with all the searching and bargaining to do, the Supercore Karaoke series can be a journey and a half. But how do they perform for the rest of us? Well, read on for more information and reviews.
Here is a comprehensive list of all the Supercore Karaoke discs. We list the CDG IDs that karaoke jockeys (KJs) use in their songbooks:
Supercore Karaoke By A-Major!
You may have noticed that the splash screen and on-screen lyrics are identical to those from Ameri-Sing. You would be correct because they come from the same stable – the A-Major karaoke group. So, they have connections with the following karaoke labels:
Be aware that our findings reveal this label is a mishmash of many ‘labels’. For example, they are mostly NuTech. However, some were from Rising Star Karaoke and even Chart Hits Monthly!

Super CD: SCDG
The firm also released a Supercore Super CD with 388 songs on SPS388.
Indeed, we saw this for sale, cellophane wrapped and unused, at $18 (US) (£14 UK) ($23 AUS) (August 2014).
This Super CD+Graphics disc will contain all the karaoke songs from all or most of their discs.
The label reads, “Look for the SCDG trademark or ask your local dealer for suitable Super CDG karaoke players. Also compatible with PC Windows with a DVD-ROM drive”.
Because CAVS USA patented the Super CDG, these discs will play in any of their karaoke players. However, it will play on a PC or laptop with a media player. To learn more about karaoke formats and their uses, we have further information in this article.
Supercore Karaoke Review
We gathered a few Supercore CDGs that we picked up on the cheap. However, we had no idea what to expect because none of the staff members here had worked with this karaoke label. So, were they going to be a hit or a miss?
The splash screen on the tracks we sampled was just one plain colour. That is usually yellow, with the title big and bold. However, some opening screens were dull and drab. Other than that, the on-screen lyrics are bold and legible. Musically, they had a good balance and were adequate for karaoke gigs or home use.
The artwork on the sleeves and CDGs shows the company logo. That is apple-core singing. It is a decent design, so what a shame we never found examples of that on the screen.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is SPC26-01 – Maroon 5 – This Love.

Desirability Factor
Due to these karaoke discs running in sequence, they are ideal as a collection. They perform well enough, so buy them if you can find them for a reasonable price. For the casual collector, they will be decent enough.
Of course, we could never sample all the tracks on this 54-disc set. So, if you have any of these discs, please let us know your thoughts.
To Sum Up
So there you have it. A nice little collection of karaoke CDGs to find online for your collection.
Should you find the complete collection on sale, we recommend buying them. That is because they perform reasonably well. Also, karaoke disc collectors will pay handsomely for a whole set of discs. So, a collection like this should hold its value.
We are also looking for more information about the firm behind these disks. For instance, did they evolve into some other karaoke firm?
In brief, provide your information and help karaoke disc collectors now and in the future. Generally speaking, a complete set of discs like this would grace any karaoke collection. But we are looking for independent reviews as well as ours! Indeed, if you have these karaoke discs, let us know what you think about them.
