Sunfly Karaoke Introduction
Sunfly Karaoke is arguably the most famous karaoke label in the world. This firm made karaoke discs during the peak years, but they are still at it! Indeed, the ‘golden age of karaoke‘ came and went, but Sunfly lives on.
Sunfly managed to survive when many karaoke firms folded.
In brief, the firm releases at least one monthly karaoke disc in their ‘Hits’ series. However, there are lots of other series. So, let’s look at those series’ before we move on to further info and reviews.
Logic tells us that if they were not good at their job, they would not be here today, but they are. Sunfly still produces some of the best-sounding karaoke tracks around.
Furthermore, they have an active website, and you can buy monthly releases. Moreover, you can purchase single tracks and custom burn discs, too. On their website, you can sample the music before you buy. Indeed, their website is quick-loading, as well. Furthermore, they have a good search engine, and the website is easy to navigate.
Sunfly still releases the odd disc, but like other firms, digital downloads are the norm nowadays. Because of that, we have songbooks for the discs and the digital collection.

Start Your Sunfly Karaoke Collection
If you are collecting karaoke discs for the first time, Sunfly is the best place to start. There is a glut of these discs on the second-hand market, and sometimes whole sets become available. Indeed, many people run successful karaoke gigs with the ‘Sunfly Hits’ and ‘Most Wanted’ CDGs.
If you want their discs or tracks, we recommend buying from the official website and supporting Sunfly in every way possible. In other words, when you purchase directly from Sunfly, you are helping the makers keep the supply of karaoke tracks flowing for everyone to enjoy.
If money is tight and you are starting a new karaoke collection, we have a suggestion. To begin with, buy the newer chart hit releases directly from Sunfly. Then, use the second-hand market to look for back issues. Indeed, places like eBay are awash with Sunfly Karaoke discs.
However, if you buy second-hand, always ask about the condition of the discs first. The last thing you need is a collection of CDGs that are of suspect quality.
CDGs with plenty of scuff marks can cause problems when playing. For example, the tracks may skip in places. Also, the on-screen graphics may suffer. However, your karaoke player should be able to play discs with light surface scratches.
Not surprisingly, every karaoke jockey (KJ) we met in our time had some Sunfly discs in their collection. Indeed, there will not be many KJs who don’t have some of these discs in their workplace. Many KJs have a system that concentrates purely on Sunfly with just a scattering of discs from other labels.
Karaoke Gig Essentials
Collecting Sunfly discs will be the best thing you ever do as far as karaoke collections go. In the long run, you will not regret it! You will also have the same discs as your KJ has in the local pub. Consequently, when you go for a night out there, you will be familiar with everything about the track.
You could run an entire karaoke show using the SF Hits and the Sunfly Most Wanted Series. In other words, Sunfly is the basis of many KJ gigs.

Sunfly Karaoke Review
Of course, most of our staff have worked with these discs for many years. However, as part of our commitment to karaoke information and reviews, we must sample a few tracks.
In the early years, a few songs might have doubtful lyrics. For example, in SF087, we found ‘The Legend of Xanadu’ by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich to have numerous errors. However, Sunfly Karaoke is not the only firm to have these glitches.
The backing music used by Sunfly is some of the best available, and the on-screen lyrics sync with the beat impeccably. In the early years, the on-screen lyrics would be smaller and on the bottom of the screen. However, after realising this flaw, the on-screen lyrics became bigger and filled the screen.
The splash screen has the company name and logo as bold as brass. That is making a statement, and why not? The opening graphics also show the song title. It also gives credit to the writers.

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is SF052-11 – The Seekers – I’ll Never Find Another You.

Nonetheless, there will be songs that Sunfly did not produce.
So, even if you own all Sunfly discs, you might need to top up with other manufacturers as you continue collecting karaoke sounds!

Because the Sunfly Karaoke Collection is massive, so is the songbook. Indeed, we have two songbooks available for you to view or download. First, there is the entire collection. Then we have the SF Hits and SFMW on a separate songbook if you only have these in your collection.
By all means, inspect the large catalogues and cross-reference the Sunfly Karaoke label. Also, they come in handy while you are collecting the different series.
The Sunfly songbooks come in the form of a compact PDF file. If the disc is in the catalogue above, the track listing is in the songbooks. Since we continually update the songbooks, let us know if you see any imperfections.
Song duplications are prominent in most big karaoke companies. Sunfly has its fair share, too. This usually happens when the companies release “packs.” However, we have consolidated the Sunfly into one digital set to dissolve as many dupes as possible. Of course, we use the manufacturer’s digital prefix where possible.
Our digital Sunfly songbook will help you eliminate the dupes so you only have one version of each song. But there are exceptions. For example, our digital songbook lists the song What’s Up by 4 Non-Blondes four times. This is because there are four versions of it! There are other examples that you will find in the songbook.

What can I say about Sunfly? Well, their karaoke discs have been topping my list forever. They are a massive hit for me.
