Stingray Karaoke Introduction
Stingray Karaoke still has an active website with a download store. Their website is interactive and offers streaming services for karaoke and other music.
They have a sister site called The Karaoke Channel. This is also an interactive website, but services are limited. That is because they relied on Flash Player, which is not practical for internet use nowadays.
We review Stingray and The Karaoke Channel together. You can have your say if you have any experience with their services. You can comment, review or use our 5-star rating buttons below.
The firm doesn’t release traditional CDGs, but they have downloadable packs. However, their packs usually have more tracks than karaoke discs.
The Karaoke Channel is a subsidiary of Stingray, Montreal, Canada. They claim to have the world’s most extensive karaoke library. Yet, while they may be a big concern, we are unsure if they can justify that title. However, our contact says they own the back catalogue for Sound Choice.
Stingray rebranded some of the SC back catalogue but is now releasing newer tracks.
Stingray Karaoke Review
Our review is of the two karaoke “labels” because they are interlinked. For example, they both have the song, Designated Drinker by Alan Jackson & George Strait. However, apart from the splash screen, the track is identical. The splash screens are similar, with their respective blue logos and website addresses on a black background.
The white lyrics show on a black background. These change blue as the song progresses as a prompt for the singer. It is a good combination, and the wording has capital letters. However, you need to know the song well. That is because the subsequent line shows up far too late. So, if the song is fast, you better know it well!
The song we highlight above, Designated Drinker, is a Duet. The colour of the lyrics changes according to the singer.
The music selection is excellent, with each song being crystal clear. Since these are downloadable tracks, there is no artwork to speak of. So, we will give marks according to the website’s features.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use many songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is STR1989-002 – Jive Bunny & The Mastermixers (With Vocals) – (Medley) Swing The Mood.

- Music And Lyrics Average: 3.25
Desirability Factor
Karaoke Info – is not our cup of tea because of the lyrics. We gave three stars because of the delay in showing the lyrics.
We can’t possibly sample every track in the Stingray/Karaoke Channel arsenal, so it’s over to you. Do you work with these karaoke tracks, or are you a casual user? Tell us below in the comments. For instance, how do they fare with the older karaoke discs and tracks? By giving your opinions, you are helping future karaoke buyers make sound decisions.
Stingray/Karaoke Channel Songbook
Although most of the Karaoke Info team is semi-retired from gigging, we still buy karaoke music. However, we do not invest as much as we used to. Thus, we are relying on members to supply us with updated lists.
Indeed, with Stingray being a prolific karaoke producer, it is necessary to update the lists regularly. That is what we shall endeavour to do, of course. So, keep sending in the lists. We will do our best to update them every few months. With this in mind, click the link below and see our current songbook.
We don’t have too much information about this label. Because of that, we only list a TAD version. The problem with Stingray is that they don’t have a manufacturer’s prefix. However, they show a release date, so we use that.
