Singing Machine Karaoke: Introduction
The firm behind Singing Machine Karaoke released over 275 CDGs, so it was a medium-to-large label. We list them all and have a songbook with all the songs.
We list all the Singing Machine Karaoke discs similar to what a karaoke jockey (KJ) would have in a songbook. But how do they perform?
For example, what are the on-screen graphics like, and how do they sound? Indeed, we will give our review below on this info and reviews page for Singing Machine. But you can also leave your opinions.
Indeed, our reviews and opinions can help future karaoke disc collectors decide whether to buy these discs.
This label also has a digital songbook designed to eliminate duplicate karaoke songs. See further information below.
Second Hand Online
Due to this firm ceasing production of karaoke discs, the best chance to buy some is online.
We saw many of these discs for sale on Amazon and eBay. Many also had a reasonable price tag. However, we realize that all things are relative. Indeed, it’s no good to buy cheap karaoke discs if they are not of good quality.
The staff here at Karaoke Info will review all the karaoke manufacturers. However, independent reviews are always welcome to help future karaoke collectors. So, why not give us a review of your own?
To clarify, we list all the disc ID numbers (prefixes) for Singing Machine Karaoke.
Indeed, they are from the songbooks of a few of our old forum members who are currently karaoke jockeys (KJs). However, the official prefix is ‘G’ and not ‘TSMG’. In other words, the ‘G’ prefix is what is on the discs. But most KJs have them listed with the ‘TSMG’ prefix.
As you can see below, they did release a large number of discs. Indeed, their back catalogue is very impressive.
The Singing Machine Karaoke Discs Use Multiplex Guide Vocal Tracks
Many Singing Machine Karaoke discs have Multiplex (MPX) tracks, meaning guide vocals are on one channel. But once you learn the song, you can switch the singers off using a suitably equipped machine. However, they do have a ‘normal’ karaoke version as well. Many also boast about the original artists singing on the tracks.
Singing Machine Discs
The list below shows discs from MTV, but you will see this on some front covers. So, the connection between The Singing Machine Karaoke discs and MTV is clear.
Singing Machine Karaoke Review
As you can see in the lists above, this label has a great back catalogue but no longer produces CDGs. However, we must complete a sample test as ever.
Firstly, the splash screen is bold with the label and song title. Also shown is “as made popular by (artist)”. However, there are various styles of splash screens.
The on-screen lyrics also have a dark shadow on some songs, while others have a different font. So, there is no consistency throughout the collection. Be that as it may, all on-screen lyrics are perfectly legible.
The music is fine, with no issues, and the on-screen lyrics largely corresponded to the beat.
However, we did find some lag in most of our sample tracks. All in all, the discs we sampled were excellent, except for the lag. But we have no worries about playing them at a karaoke gig because if a singer knows the song well, the slight lag will not be too noticeable.
The artwork on the sleeves is fantastic, but the CDGs are standard for the course.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is SM8107-03 – Incubus – Drive.

Our Verdict
- On-screen Lyrics: 3.5
- Music Content: 4.5
- Splash Screen, Graphics, Video: 4
- Cover Art: 4.5
- Overall Average: 4.1

We gave this collection 4 out of 5 in the rating system below. You can also vote for these, even if you don’t have the discs or tracks. Indeed, all you need to do is watch our presentation video above and judge that.
Desirability Factor
These discs are fine, and our niggle with the slight lag between the music and lyrics is just that! However, there are better discs from other manufacturers. Some of those can be a better prospect when collecting karaoke CDGs.
It’s not that these karaoke discs are not good enough, because they are decent. But our recommendation is only to grab them if they are cheap enough.
Of course, the staff here at Karaoke Info can’t sample every song from all those discs. So, if you have any experience with them, please consider leaving a comment below.
To Sum Up
In brief, we searched the Internet for “Singing Machine Karaoke.” However, we got many results for what looked like miniature karaoke players.
These are the sort of machines that you might give a child at Christmas. But, while they are still selling karaoke players, they don’t produce karaoke discs anymore.
These compact karaoke players have their uses but will never beat those at a karaoke gig.
Of course, looking at the impressive list above, The Singing Machine excelled with the number of karaoke discs they put on the market.
Filling The Gaps
Our list of karaoke discs above shows many gaps. However, we can’t say whether these gaps were intentional by the makers or if the discs exist. So, if you know about any “missing” discs, please send us some proof, and we will update our lists immediately.
Singing Machine Karaoke Songbook (Discs & Digital)
The Singing Machine has an impressive karaoke catalogue, as shown above. However, now that you have the information and reviews, you need to know what is on the discs.
Indeed, there are artists such as Aerosmith, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Will Smith, and many others. Singing Machine Karaoke also has many famous songs. In essence, there are many genres in these series.
So, Singing Machine has karaoke songs for everyone. But, again, we need those independent reviews to come in. If you buy any of these discs, don’t forget to come back to make a comment or two.
To eliminate song duplications, go digital. Our digital songbooks reflect the original manufacturer’s code, where possible. Furthermore, our digital books only list a song once. For example, in the disc songbook, there are seven entries of Crawling In The Dark by Hoobastank. In contrast, the digital book lists it twice (one being the guide vocal version).
