So, our advice here at Karaoke Info would be to buy genuine karaoke tracks with graphics. Of course, karaoke tracks without on-screen lyrics should be identifiable.

CDs vs Digital Downloads

When you buy digital downloads, they might not have the bitrate that a CDG can offer. In short, some tracks may only be 128 kbps. While this is quite acceptable in most cases, it is not good enough for the audiophile.

So, if you buy digital downloads, go for the highest bitrate on offer. For example, there may be 192kbps tracks together with the 320kbps option. In this case, go for 320 kbps. In other words, the higher this number, the better.

Those using a disc-based system must burn the tracks to a compact disc. With this in mind, we have an article that you can read. Here, we show how to do this and the equipment needed.

For the most part, this is an easy thing to do, but it is time-consuming. However, please understand that if you burn a disc with 128kbps karaoke tracks, you still get 128kbps music! In other words, it is not the same as buying a commercially released karaoke disc recorded in high quality!

SBI Karaoke Review

We are mainly an old-fashioned bunch here at Karaoke Info. So, we were convinced to test out a few tracks from SBI.

Maybe our ears are getting older, too, but all we can say is that these SBI sounds are excellent! We could not find a way to knock down the digital downloads. Indeed, we couldn’t fault them. So much so that if we were gigging again regularly, we would have no hesitation in stocking up with loads of their karaoke tracks. All we can say is wow!

The earlier splash screen graphics are not the best we have seen, but they improved slightly on their later releases. You will see the company name, website address, song title, and artist.

The colour schemes for the background and lyrics differ, but all are perfectly legible. Our samples showed that they maintain impeccable timing. The choice of backing music is perfection itself.

With this firm supplying downloaded material in the main, we can’t score them on the artwork.
