RCA Karaoke Introduction
The RCA Karaoke label has a total of 45 discs in this collection. Here, we give you plenty of information and a review of this karaoke label.
The label says, “Manufactured by RCA Special Products, a label of BMG Direct.”
To explain why we point this out, Sony has BMG on their karaoke labels and is written “SONY-BMG,” with the dash being a treble clef.
However, we believe the two companies have no connection, unless you know better!

We highlight the initials ‘BMG’, but ‘BMG Direct’ is a different entity. Nonetheless, the RCA label does not produce karaoke discs anymore.
Half And Half
These RCA karaoke discs have four with-guide-vocal tracks (MPX) at the start of the disc. Then, they have four non-vocal karaoke tracks at the end. Of course, you may switch off the vocals on suitably equipped karaoke machines. We have more information about Multiplex, or MPX, here.
With the above information in mind, are they worth pursuing? After all, some people think the with-vocal or guided vocal tracks are a waste of space. It is the quality of the product that is important, of course.
Avid collectors will undoubtedly grab these discs when they can get them. If they have the space, that is! However, the casual karaoke disc collector may find them impractical. That is because there are lots of discs in the series. But remember, they have only four unique songs!
Considering most discs will easily accommodate 18–20 songs, this collection is maybe just a waste of space. Moreover, it is a waste of money!
Of course, these karaoke songs might have the best quality around. If so, then acquiring them is a must. That is where our reviews count and members have their say.
Impressive List
The number of discs in the list below is impressive, and we appreciate the effort by RCA Karaoke. But, to point out again, there are not many karaoke tracks on each disc.
It does appear that there are two discs missing from the list. Due to our list of discs coming from one member, he may not have those in his collection. However, they may be intentionally missing. In other words, they may not exist at all!
If they do turn up, we will update all lists immediately. To clarify, here is a list of discs that we know to exist from RCA Karaoke:

RCA Karaoke Review

Let us inspect these karaoke discs that have the RCA brand name. Our first sample track gave us a brilliant splash screen. The background colour was a bright blue, with the company name, song title, and starting key in the bottom right.
Also on the opening screen is a dog with a microphone in front of it. Then, there is a fade-out of that information for the lyrics to take their place. However, we found many surprises with these splash screens.
For example, there is a flashing TV screen. The lyrics on our samples were white on a light blue backdrop. As the song progresses, the words turn yellow.
The choice of backing music is excellent, and the lyrics sync well. Indeed, the on-screen lyrics and music are well-oiled, making the discs a joy to use. The end screen gives a little more information. That shows the writer and publisher.
The artwork for this series is fantastic. The sleeves are cartoonish and different each time to reflect the disc’s theme.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is RCA503-06 – Patsy Cline – I Fall To Pieces.
Our Verdict
- On-screen Lyrics: 5
- Music Content: 4.5
- Splash Screen, Graphics, Video: 5

- Overall Average: 4.75
- Music And Lyrics Average: 4.75
We gave this collection 5 out of 5 in the rating system below. You can also vote for these, even if you don’t have the discs or tracks. Indeed, all you need to do is watch our presentation video above and judge that.
Desirability Factor
Once we tried these RCA karaoke discs, we never looked back. They have the WOW factor, never mind the desirability factor! The only problem with these is the shortage of songs on the disc. Remember, they all have guide vocals. So, in effect, that halves the number of unique tracks.
Be that as it may, we just loved them, period!
Even though these discs are rare, one member has two discs from the RCA Karaoke series. He owns RCA525 and RCA534 and rates them highly. For one thing, he says that they are musically sound, and there are no issues with the graphics.
Further Information is Needed.
The labels also have a rather cute dog looking towards a microphone. That is very similar to the HMV logo. That, of course, is of a dog peering into a gramophone player. With this in mind, is there a connection?
Of course, we rely mainly on our members’ feedback for these discs. Therefore, we invite you to comment on the RCA Karaoke label.
So, how do you think they compare with other karaoke manufacturers? Also, do you agree that the music and graphics are of good quality?

In brief, would you recommend other karaoke collectors look for them on the second-hand market, and if so, why? We welcome your thoughts, and feedback is valuable to the karaoke scene!
