Pro Hits Karaoke Introduction
This set of discs from Pro Hits Karaoke has unique CDG labels, but that’s it as far as individuality goes. That is because this collection of discs is from the Backstage Karaoke stable. As such, their splash screens show the NuTech Karaoke logo!
Because of their identity, which is clearly on the physical karaoke discs, this set will spark interest from karaoke collectors. However, the casual user or karaoke jockey (KJ) will probably stick with discs from the parent company. That will help avoid many dupes in their collections.
Multiplex Karaoke (MPX)
All the Karaoke CDGs in this series are multiplex (MPX). That means they have guide vocals. The vocal track is usually on the right side of the stereo track. Once you learn the song, you can switch off the guide vocals with a compatible karaoke player or suitable software. You will find more information about Multiplex karaoke tracks here.

Pro Hits Karaoke Review
Since the Pro Hits collection comes from the Backstage/NuTech stable, we can’t be overly excited about this set. The parent company is responsible for the music content and the on-screen graphics. They are pretty average, so they will be fine if you are a casual collector and can find them cheap.
Most of the staff at Karaoke Info prefer collections to be in order. No KJ likes too many dupes either, of course. So, this collection would be overkill. As far as karaoke goes, these are not bad, but why have an identical collection of discs?

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is PH06-11 – The Knack – My Sharona.

Desirability Factor
If you only intend to own these and not the Backstage, fine. However, we don’t recommend this collection, even if you can get the whole set cheap. There are so many labels that you can choose from, and most will do a better job. Only the avid collector should have an interest in this label.
Karaoke Info verdict: avoid!
To Sum Up
Because these discs are Multiplex (MPX), they could be worth it if you need to learn a song.
But remember that you need to have the ability to switch the guide vocals off when you are ready to sing without the accompaniment.
Here at Karaoke Info, we don’t encourage you to buy dupes. So, unless you are an avid karaoke collector, we don’t recommend them. However, if you have very little from the Backstage/NuTech camp, why not grab them?
