We list and review the Polygram Karaoke LaserDiscs. There are two discs to report about, but with them being laserdiscs, they have sides A and B.

Both discs originate in Asia, where many decent karaoke video discs come from. So, are we in for a treat again? Our review will reveal all!

Polygram Karaoke LaserDiscs List

  • PGM01A: Bee Gees (Live)
  • PGM01B: Bee Gees (Live)
  • PGM11A (Various Artists)
  • PGM11B (Various Artists)

The Bee Gees feature prominently on one disc. Our reviewer is in for a treat because they are one of Julie’s favourite bands of all time.

Polygram Karaoke LaserDiscs Review

The splash screens for the two discs vary, but both are decent enough with the song title and songwriters.

To begin with, we found the splash screens to appear for too long. Moreover, there is a delay between those screens and the video beginning.

The videos in the Bee Gees album show the band singing live or in the studio. There are also some film clips of when they were kids. That is a pleasing touch.

Indeed, in one video, you see Barry and Robin fighting, and it looks brutal. However, The Bee Gees were a very close family. Of course, it was all for show then.

The white lyrics change to blue or red. The words are always illuminated at the right time. Whether we tried the Bee Gees album or the various artists, the music was not questionable. Indeed, it was suitable for gigs or home use.

The cover art is decent, but we saw repetitive artwork on some.

Karaoke Song Sample

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is PGM01A-07 – Bee Gees – Melody Fair. Of course, this song was featured in the 1971 film “Melody” (aka “S.W.A.L.K.”).
