Party Tyme Karaoke (AKA Sybersound) Introduction
Party Tyme Karaoke is still an active company with a web presence (2014). Their website is bright, modern, and easy to navigate. As with all current karaoke producers, we would say now is the time to support them. That is because, without our support, they could struggle to survive like so many karaoke firms in the past. So, get over to their website and purchase what you can.
A while back, we asked for more information about this collection of discs.
We needed to know how karaoke jockeys (KJs) use disc ID numbers (prefixes) in their songbooks.
Most KJs used the “SYB” prefix, but some used “SY”. What happened to PT for Party Tyme Karaoke?
Be that as it may, we sifted through all the collected data. We now list this karaoke label as the majority of KJs would.
At this point, it’s worth noting that some people refer to this karaoke label as either Party Tyme or Sybersound. In the past, most people would use Sybersound. But this does seem to be changing as time goes by.
Also, it’s worth pointing out that some of these discs have guide vocals (Wvocal in our songbooks). Of course, that is not a problem if you want to learn a song. However, having guide vocal tracks reduces the number of original songs on a disc.
Go Digital!
Although the disc variants serve us well, we now have a digital version of the Party Tyme songbook. Indeed, there are many reasons why you would want to upgrade your collection. Firstly, the digital version will eliminate dupes.
For example, we found that Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley is listed 11 times. However, some of those have guided vocals. Our digital songbooks eliminate those. In other words, we list only one song, except variants, if any.
Secondly, you will save space on your hard drive and printer ink. So, when you load the tracks into your karaoke player, the choice from this company will be simple. Of course, the disc versions usually have overall better sound quality.
Updating The Data
Because this label is still active, some CDGs may not be on our lists. So, if there are any missing, please let us know. Likewise, if you use a different numbering system for your karaoke songbooks, please tell us. In effect, we like to log what the majority of KJs use.
That helps to inform KJs as well as casual karaoke collectors. It can also help the singers at your gigs if they are familiar with the prefixes.

Where do you start sampling from a massive karaoke label like Party Tyme? With so many CDGs to choose from, we grabbed a few random ones. Then, we got on with the job at hand.
The splash screens are bold and beautiful, with lots of colours. That is how karaoke songs should be. The on-screen graphics show you what key you should start singing in and the company name with the song title.
We found the music well-balanced and crystal clear on our sample tracks. However, many songs were slightly lagging behind with the on-screen lyrics.
The staff here at Karaoke Info all believe that the on-screen lyrics should be highlighted slightly ahead of time and not lag.
The artwork on the sleeves and CDGs is mesmerising. They are bland but very colourful, and we loved them. They sure look like a party could be had with them in your hand.

Desirability Factor
This collection is beautiful, despite a few negative remarks. Just ensure that you are not buying duplications. Of course, it will cost a lot of money to build up the whole collection. But this karaoke collection will be value-for-money.
