Party Time Karaoke DVDs: Introduction
We list and review six DVDs from the Party Time Karaoke collection. Each disc has two versions of the same song. One version is traditional karaoke, while the other has guide vocals.
You can’t switch off the vocals like Multiplex (MPX) discs, but once you learn the song, you can revert to the ordinary karaoke track.
There are 20 tracks per DVD, but that means only 10 individual songs. On the face of it, that doesn’t represent value for money. However, it’s their value as karaoke that counts. We review these Party Time Karaoke discs below.
The disc format means you can play the discs on any DVD player or suitable karaoke machine.
Party Time Karaoke DVDs List
Thanks to one of our Australian members for sending the following disc prefixes. We list the guide vocals as a B version in our songbook to make them stand out.
- PTK002: Pop Favourites
- PTK005: All-Time Greats
- PTK008: Rat Pack
- PTK009: Hits Of The 60s
- PTK010: Hits Of The 70s
- PTK011: Hits Of The 80s
Our contact uses the prefixes above in his songbook for easy reference. However, the official disc numbers are as follows:
- USPKAR002
- USPKAR005
- USPKAR008
- USPKAR009
- USPKAR010
- USPKAR011
An old forum member supplied the information above. However, there may be “missing” discs from the list due to gaps in the prefixes. So if you have any more information, let us know.
Party Time Karaoke DVDs Review
The opening splash screen has moving random straight-line patterns and is not an attention grab. These screens show the song title, artist, writers, and publishers.
Once the video starts, you’ll see the same moving background as the splash screen. White lyrics turn blue as a prompt for the singer.
Blue on blue will never work, so these discs lose marks immediately. That said, there is no lag, which is a bonus. The following lyrics appear in good time.
Unlike other music video discs, these only have words with kaleidoscope-like graphics. There are no male or female models, and there is no indoor or outdoor scenery. We don’t see the point! Indeed, give us flexible, good old-fashioned CDGs over these any day.
The music is decent enough for gigging or home use. Meanwhile, the artwork on the covers is perfect, with cartoonish characters.
Someone asked whether these video discs are connected to Party Tyme (Sybersound) CDGs. Our answer is no.
**The screenshot is of PTK002-08. This song is Whole Again by the British girl group Atomic Kitten.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is PTK010A-01 – Bay City Rollers – Bye Bye Baby.

Party Time Karaoke DVDs Songbook
We have a two-page songbook (131 entries) to accompany the karaoke prefixes above. However, you must be a logged-in member to view or download the songbook. So please consider joining us.
Unlike the primary commercial karaoke directory, the video sets mainly have one songbook. The preferred format is ATD (Original Artist, Song Title, Disc Prefix). However, if your membership status entitles you, ask us to make two more versions.
** If you are looking for the download buttons, only those with full membership can access them. Non-members can’t download our karaoke songbooks, so if you wish to do this, please consider becoming a full member.
