NuTech Karaoke Introduction

NuTech Karaoke has produced many discs over the years. Indeed, the label has much respect in the karaoke world, that’s for sure. But how do they perform? Our review is below.

NuTech Karaoke produced discs in their very own name as well as others. However, the company no longer makes karaoke tracks.

Whether or not the firm paid the correct loyalties is not what Karaoke Info is about. Indeed, the discs exist, and we sample and review them for others to decide.

Nikkodo Karaoke - NT1063 Front Cover.

Of course, if no money filters through to the writers, publishers and artists, that is unfair. However, the firm churned out the discs to the unsuspecting public. Be that as it may, bought them at will.

NuTech is connected to the following karaoke labels:

In other words, NuTech is almost legendary in the karaoke scene. Furthermore, they made karaoke songs for kids and country music lovers. In effect, karaoke collectors can do no wrong looking for these discs on the second-hand market.

We searched online, hoping to find these NuTech discs at reasonable prices. For the most part, NuTech karaoke discs were cheap in some places but expensive in others. So, it depends on where you look if you want a good deal. Moreover, if you buy from the internet, ensure the discs have no signs of damage.

Collecting The Data

NuTech karaoke logo.

In the first place, we asked members for information about NuTech Karaoke. Of course, we wanted as much info as possible. Our first task was to confirm their disc identities (prefixes). Furthermore, we asked members to send in their songbooks.

However, only karaoke jockeys (KJs) from America responded to our requests, which seemed strange because karaoke is universal.

Be that as it may, we did compile a complete list of discs and tracks.

You may download the NuTech list of discs above, but the songbooks are for members only. So, please consider joining us.

Although we list the following packs in the discs list, we have further information below.

NuTech Party Packs:

  • NTPPS01
  • NTPPS02
  • NTPPS03

These discs are Super CDs. They also have 1234 tracks on each disc. However, with over a thousand karaoke tracks on one disc, you need a suitable machine to play them.

NTPSS01 Vol1 Cover - NEO+G.
NTPSS02 Vol 2 - NEO+G - Cover And Disc.

Indeed, you would need a CAVS Karaoke player or PC for them to work. Information on this page may help. Be that as it may, once you get these discs to play, you have 1234 songs on one disc. However, they contain many dupes from the two series.

Super CD: NTEPS01 – Elvis Presley

This NTEPS01 disc is a 419-track Elvis Presley Super CD+G. The disc is also a Neo+G disc. Therefore, it can only be played on a CAVS Karaoke machine or PC.

We have more info about karaoke formats here.

NuTech Karaoke Review

The NuTech Karaoke logo is two halves of the world, with NuTech Entertainment scrolled into a ribbon above. That logo on the early splash screens is atrocious. The later discs show one world, and that is equally as bad.

On some screens, you may see the writers and publishers. However, those words are just as bad. It makes you wonder why they even bothered in the first place. Be that as it may, the song title is perfectly legible. The company logo stays on the screen for a few seconds. This is after the lyrics show. Not only that, but the logo can appear during the instrumental bit!

The white lyrics have a black shadow and show on a blue screen. The words turn red as the music progresses. These on-screen graphics work well. It’s a shame that they didn’t put some effort into their on-screen logo! The later discs in the series have a different colour scheme, but both are decent.

The choice of music for these discs is excellent. They are much better than their Nikkodo cousin. The on-screen lyrics sync well on most occasions with hardly any lag.

The artwork on the sleeves and CDGs is uninspiring. Be that as it may, you see their logo much clearer!

Karaoke Sample

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is NUKH015-18 – Johnny Cash – A Boy Named Sue.

Verdict

  • On-screen Lyrics: 4
  • Music Content: 4.5
  • Splash Screen, Graphics, Video: 2.5
  • Cover Art: 3
  • Overall Average: 3.5
  • Music And Lyrics Average: 4.25

We gave this collection 4 out of 5 in the rating system below. You can also vote for these, even if you don’t have the discs or tracks. Indeed, all you need to do is watch our presentation video above and judge that.

Desirability Factor

The music and on-screen lyrics don’t let these karaoke discs down, but the splash screens are terrible. If you don’t mind those, these discs are fine. You can easily use these NuTech Karaoke CDGs for gigging and home use.

We can’t possibly test every track from the discs above, so this is where you step in. If you have any of these discs, please consider doing a small write-up, giving your experiences with them. Doing so helps future karaoke disc collectors who rely on reviews before spending their hard-earned cash.

To Sum Up

NuTech Karaoke - NT1053 Disc.

You can see that NuTech produced a decent amount of karaoke discs under their name.

Together with the other labels NuTech has a link to, they were a very active karaoke company. All in all, NuTech is a very respected CDG label in karaoke circles.

In conclusion, none of our team has any experience with the NuTech karaoke discs. So more information is necessary from people who have these discs or know more about the firm who made them.

Indeed, a karaoke disc collector may want to buy some of these discs, if not the whole set. A small review like ours will help them further their knowledge of this set.

In detail, how do you rate the overall quality of the music? Also, do the graphics match the beat? What happened to the producers, and are they still making karaoke elsewhere? Indeed, it is no secret that many karaoke makers have much in common. Moreover, some have very close links. So much so that they are almost the same. But that debate is open for another day!

NuTech Karaoke Songbook

So, now that you have plenty of information about the NuTech Karaoke Series, we need the song list. Indeed, we have compiled this list from the info sent to us. In essence, this was easy to log. Since NuTech is no longer making karaoke, we don’t expect the list to change. In brief, click the link below to see the NuTech Karaoke songbook.
