Nashville Star Karaoke Introduction
This Nashville Star Karaoke series comes from a television series by the same name. As the name suggests, this 16-disc karaoke set is country music.
The Nashville Star TV programme was a reality television singing competition on the screens in America from 2003 to 2008, so this dates these discs somewhat.
However, this was the heyday for karaoke when so many good discs came onto the market. Be that as it may, now we will see how this collection performs.
Second-Hand Market Only
With the demise of the TV series, this label will produce no more new discs. However, they are available on the second-hand market.
Indeed, we found plenty of the Nashville Star Karaoke discs for sale on the internet. The prices we saw were still holding steady, but not too cheap. However, we only looked once, and remember, prices tend to fluctuate.
There are undoubtedly many bargains on the second-hand market if you search correctly. But watch out for discs that are in poor condition!
Most discs for sale were in the USA, but some were from the UK. There are many country karaoke discs in our directory, of course. So, are these the best? Read on because we have lots of information about these discs.
Excellent Pedigree
Although these discs identify as Nashville Star, they come from the Sound Choice stable. As such, you know they will be quality karaoke discs. However, they will keep their info page here. That is because there could be some people who only have this series.
We asked members to supply their disc ID numbers (prefixes) and songbooks. That was so we could compile the data for cataloguing. We received plenty of information about these discs from many members. Because of that, we compiled a reliable songbook (see below). Although the label prefixes the discs with an ‘N’, most KJs prefix them with ‘SCN’ to help distinguish them.

Nashville Star Karaoke Review
We did say that these discs come from the SC label, but you can hardly tell. For example, the splash screens don’t have that familiar five-line staff. Instead, the first screen shows a massive Nashville Star logo.
Then, the second screen shows the song title “in the style of” (artist).
The first clue to these being from the SC camp is on the splash screen. The display shows the starting key, song duration, and measure (the time before you start singing).
The light blue screen displays the lyrics. Those on-screen lyrics can be a variation of a few colours. Likewise, they can change to different colours as the song progresses.
The excellent backing music is what you would expect from the SC series. Also, the lyrics and music sync impeccably.
The artwork on the sleeves is decent but very similar. The covers show either a male or female wearing a cowboy hat. Both have broad smiles, with the male looking like a young John Travolta.
Another pleasing thing is that there are no duplicate songs in this series.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is SCN0111-02 – Shania Twain – You’re Still The One.

Desirability Factor
Being a karaoke jockey (KJ) isn’t easy. That is because you have to contend with drunks and demanding singers. You also need a good selection of music from different genres, including country music.
However, the staff here has only had to supply customers with older popular country music rather than modern-day stuff. That was rather convenient for the people here at Karaoke Info. We say that because of our staff, who like that era.
Although this collection has a lot of modern country music, we did manage to sample these discs because there are some golden oldies on them.
The music was clear, and the on-screen lyrics synced well. Some of the tracks had us rocking along, too. So our verdict, if the oldies are anything to go by, they are a big hit!
We can’t possibly sample all tracks, of course. Therefore, if you have these discs, consider giving your own.
To Sum Up
These discs date back to when karaoke CDGs were flooding the market. Indeed, the karaoke firms did a reasonable job at the time and kept the music flowing.
Karaoke firms saturated the market with discs. That couldn’t continue, so most are now gone from the scene. In this case, the TV show ended and the production of new discs ceased. We may never know whether their karaoke series would have survived had the show continued. But they did pay attention to detail with these karaoke discs.
Disc numbers SCN0120 and SCN0121 are missing from the lists. Whether that was intentional or not, we don’t know. So, over to you!
Also, checking for these discs online shows us that the discs come in various volumes. So, some KJs may use different disc prefixes. However, we list them because most KJs have them in their songbooks.
