Karaoke Classics: Introduction

The Karaoke Classics company released only nine CDGs. Of course, karaoke is our game here, and we appreciate all the manufacturers.

A unique label is always in demand for karaoke disc collectors. So, this label is no different. However, searching for them is difficult. Indeed, we couldn’t find any when we completed a search.

To begin with, they have an awkward generic name in ‘karaoke’ and ‘classics’, which will dredge up all sorts of results.

Then, because they come from the mid-nineties, they are pretty rare. Thus, they are one of those karaoke labels that are a true collector’s item should you bag them. Grabbing the whole set is the aim. So, if you see them on eBay cheaply, snatch them. Indeed, these discs may change hands at much higher prices between collectors.

In brief, a forum member sent their lists and songbooks to us, and we list those here. We have no further information about this karaoke label. However, we collected the disc identities (prefixes) and the songbook from that list. So, if you know more about those who made them, let us know.

Karaoke Classics Review

The splash screen is unique, with the song title at the top. That has a crude 3D effect using plenty of deep shadows in yellow. Underneath that are the writers and publishers. However, the artists don’t get a mention, and there is no end screen.

The font used for the lyrics is bloated and cramped together because the lettering is too small.
The background is dark blue with white words.

As the song progresses, the lyrics change colour, of course. However, depending on the karaoke track, that can be any colour. The choice of backing music is excellent, and the on-screen lyrics match the beat impeccably.

Much information is on the CDGs, but that is far too cluttered.

Karaoke Song Sample

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is KC007-02 – Barry McGuire – Eve Of Destruction.

Our Verdict

  • Music Content: 4
  • Splash Screen, Graphics, Video: 3.5

Desirability Factor

These karaoke discs are unique and have a decent score in our review. Therefore, we recommend them. But remember, they will be rare, and finding them will be difficult.

We tested a few tracks from this series and were very impressed with the performance. Therefore, from the Karaoke Info team, it’s a big yes.

However, we would like your opinions on these karaoke discs. That is so that others get a better idea of how they perform.

In brief, we know nothing about the firm. So, a little piece about the makers would be great. If you would like to write a review for the Karaoke Classics series, please register and do so. Your opinion counts and can help karaoke collectors decide whether to go out and look for this small set.

To Sum Up

The first thing to remember is that the keywords are far too common when searching for these discs. To point out the obvious, ‘karaoke’ and ‘classics’ in search engines will bring up many different karaoke labels.

Of course, the biggest karaoke labels have some ‘classic’ discs, so that’s what you will find! Under those circumstances, finding this Karaoke Classics set of CDGs will be difficult. So, good luck to those who try!

As previously noted, if they come your way and are cheap, we say grab them. That is because some rare karaoke sets can change hands for quite a bit of money.

Karaoke Classics Songbook
