Homestar Karaoke Introduction
Homestar Karaoke no longer makes discs, but they have left us with over 50 CDGs.
The discs are still available on the second-hand market, of course. Indeed, they were selling very cheaply when we searched the Internet. For example, a few individual discs on eBay go for £2.00 each (2014 prices) with free postage! That equates to $3.24 (USD), so bargains are available.
There are gaps in the list of Homestar Karaoke discs below. That is to say, there may be karaoke discs from Homestar that are missing, or it could be intentional.
By all means, contact us if you know of other discs not on our list. Furthermore, if you have any karaoke CDGs not on our lists, send us a song list and a disc image.

Homestar Karaoke Review
The staff at Karaoke Info have all found that nothing is standard in our sing-along world. That applies to how karaoke jockeys (KJs) list their songs in their songbooks, as we have seen. It also applies to the way the makers produce our treasured karaoke discs.
None of our staff has heard of Homestar Karaoke, so we had no idea how they would perform. But we ended up loving this collection!
The splash screens are the best we’ve ever seen in the karaoke world.
Some have four intro screens. Each screen is as perfect as you’ll get on a CDG.
Firstly, you get the company name and song title, “Style of (Artist)”.
There is also a character singing into a microphone, and it’s all bright and beautiful. There are other graphic screens after this while the intro is playing. Countdown chevrons or diamonds also help you join in at the right moment.
The colouring scheme for the on-screen lyrics differs for each song, which is another brilliant touch. The words change colour in time with the beat. That is also as slick as it can be. Indeed, even the choice of backing music is excellent.
This collection would get 5 out of 5 across the board, but for one of our sample songs. We played The Bachelors‘ “I Wouldn’t Trade You For The World” and believe the lyrics used were slightly wrong. They are not far out, but it is still a fault.
The artwork on the CDGs tells you that these karaoke songs are fun. They, in turn, come in an equally decent sleeve.
Karaoke Song Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is HSW201-02 – Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel – Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me).

We gave this collection 5 out of 5 in the rating system below because of the fun factor. You can also vote for these, even if you don’t have the discs or tracks. Indeed, all you need to do is watch our presentation video above and judge that.
Desirability Factor
We think these CDGs are fun and show how karaoke is supposed to be. It’s just a shame we chose a song with slightly incorrect lyrics. However, Sunfly and many other labels have abnormalities like this.
Buy these HomeStar Karaoke discs, and they will not disappoint.
Further Info
There are quite a few unique songs in this collection of HomeStar Karaoke discs. For instance, “The Streets Of London” by The Sex Pistols. The HomeStar Karaoke collection is the only place to find it as we review these discs. In this case, it is on the HSW204 disc for those who want it.
The Homestar Karaoke series will be a valuable addition to any karaoke collection. That is because Homestar made some gems.
They are not expensive on the second-hand market compared to the few we saw. However, we hope members who own these karaoke discs make a comment or two. Giving us your opinions allows other karaoke enthusiasts to decide if they should look out for them in the marketplace.

Grab Them While You Can
There are plenty of karaoke discs from HomeStar Karaoke. However, very few were on sale on the Internet when we looked. But the ones we saw were cheap.
So, for those wishing to buy these discs, it may be a case of waiting a while. Be that as it may, when purchasing on places like eBay, always ask if the discs work perfectly.
