Forever Hits Karaoke: Introduction

The Forever Hits Karaoke Set is a mid-size collection with many genres. Indeed, apart from the usual classic songs, they have a whole section devoted to children’s karaoke. And why not? The kids deserve their very own karaoke songs, too!

The parent company is Bottom Line Sources, and this is on all Forever Hits karaoke discs.

We review these discs below. However, we are always looking for further input. So please use the comment forms below to give us your opinion.

Collating The Forever Hits Karaoke Data

Due to the many series in this collection, we shouted out for Karaoke Jockeys (KJs) to send information to us. In this case, we got many replies, and it took ages to sift through all the disc prefixes and tracklistings. This label took months to compile!

However, there could be a few missing CDGs because of the gaps. Forever Hits was building up its catalogue of karaoke discs nicely, but it stopped production. Because of this, many series’ might not have concluded.

With this in mind, the gaps might be intentional, and there may be no missing discs! However, if we get any information that leads us to more Forever Hits Karaoke discs, we will add them to the lists. We will update the songbook, too.

Even though there appear to be some gaps, we did compile a comprehensive list of discs. Furthermore, we list them as the most common way karaoke jockeys (KJs) would.

Forever Hits Karaoke has no guide vocal tracks except for the Holiday Hits (BLS) and Children’s discs, which are MPX. So, coupled with a good few tracks on the discs, are they a bargain?

Forever Hits Karaoke Review

FH7204 Front Cover.

This collection of karaoke discs looks impressive, but how well do they perform? That is what we need to know. This is so others can decide whether to have them in their collection!

Let us take a look at the splash screens first. Almost immediately, they got our attention.

The light blue screen was beautiful, while the white wording shadowed in black was striking. You get the song title “in the style of (artist)”. Simple, but effective!

The countdown to singing is some small white solid circles in the top left of the screen.
The lyrics are legible, being white shadowed by black. The words change to red with a white shadow as the song progresses. However, our samples showed that they lag slightly. In other words, the words are not in sync. They are not far out, but enough for us to lose interest.

Two end screens are giving us the songwriters and publishers. Meanwhile, the artwork on the sleeves is decent, but the CDGs are plain black and white.

Karaoke Sample

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is FH3106-08 – Lynn Anderson – Rose Garden.

Our Verdict

  • On-screen Lyrics: 3.5
  • Music Content: 4
  • Splash Screen, Graphics, Video: 4.5
  • Cover Art: 4
  • Overall Average: 4
  • Music And Lyrics Average: 3.75

We gave this collection 4 out of 5 in the rating system below. The on-screen colours are excellent, but the lag is painful. You can also vote for these, even if you don’t have the discs or tracks. Indeed, all you need to do is watch our presentation video above and judge that.

Desirability Factor

If you don’t mind the lyrics being slightly behind, then these CDGs are fine. Their colour scheme is excellent, and they perform well except for that niggling lag. It’s that which makes us say there are better karaoke versions around.

Should any member have discs not on our list, please send us some information and an image to confirm. So, can you help fill the void here?

Also, any information about the Bottom Line Sources people will be welcome. So will other info about the quality of the karaoke discs themselves.

Do you agree with our assessment and review? For example, what is the quality of the sound? Also, are the on-screen graphics in good shape?

We are particularly looking for a review of the Forever Hits Karaoke series because your opinions count!

That is so we can judge whether others should look for them on the second-hand market. Your opinions will help other karaoke disc collectors the world over. Indeed, Karaoke Info helps many karaoke jockeys (KJs) keep their files in check. Also, we aim to bring value to karaoke disc collectors.

Only Available Second-Hand

Because this karaoke company no longer makes discs or tracks, they are only available on the second-hand market. Check the internet after you do your homework here at Karaoke Info to see if you can find any.

We searched eBay and found many of the Forever Hits discs still available to buy. For example, we discovered a 15-disc set going for $30.00. That equates to £18.50 (2014 prices).

We also found unopened discs classified as mint condition, going cheap. However, before you part with your cash, check if they are worth the outlay. Ensure the discs have little to no surface scratches.

Forever Hits Karaoke Songbook

You will agree that the above list of karaoke discs is a strong showing from Forever Hits. Likewise, the song list is also relatively lengthy.

You should note that we have also placed the Bottom Line Sources disc on the list. That is because KJs have it on their lists. Besides, they are from the same company. Also, there seems to be no other place for it! In short, click the link below for the Forever Hits Karaoke songbook.

There are plenty of karaoke songs to get your teeth in. I like the display, and the music is not bad at all.
