English KP Introduction
Here, we list and review the English KP collection. The parent company, Karaoke Phoenix (KP), released over 140 discs. Moreover, you can see the whole series (Latino and English) here. However, the majority were Latino karaoke. Check out our review below because some of their English discs may be better than the big-name labels!
Generally speaking, most Karaoke Jockeys (KJs) use the letter ‘E’ at the end of these disc prefixes to help identify the English karaoke discs.
Information about these discs is sketchy, but we know there are 16 tracks per disc. But this includes their guide-vocal versions. So, in effect, there are only eight unique tracks per disc. Hence, you may see 8+8 on the outer sleeve.
The English KP disc IDs also become reinforced in the songbook below.
That is because we shouted for confirmation of these discs a while back. So, not only can you cross-reference the discs, but you can also check the track listings.

English KP Review
Our reviewer had to travel somewhat to test some of these karaoke songs. Julie had to go to the next county to a friend’s home.
It was the only way because we couldn’t get hold of them for love or money.
However, she managed to review a few more manufacturers there.
Not only that, but she bought some of his excess discs. So, we killed two birds with one stone!
The artwork on the sleeves was decent enough, but that’s never an indication of how well the discs will perform. Remember, never judge a book by its cover!
These CDGs have two splash screens that are pretty quick to change. The first screen shows ‘Karaoke Phoenix’, formed in a circle shape with a singer inside. The second screen shows the same but has the song title and writers. That is not too much of a problem, but why did they need two splash screens?
The backing music was not as good as some, but it was decent enough for karaoke gigs. The lyrics also kept pace with the beat, but there was a slight lag. In the karaoke world, the words and music should match the lyrics exactly or be slightly ahead.
The words are white on a black background. They change red with a blue shadow. This colour combination is unusual, but it works! At the end of the song, you will see two info screens.

Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is KP002E-03 – Carpenters – Top Of The World.

Desirability Factor
Even if you wanted this English KP collection, it’s getting hold of the darn things in the first place! If they come your way, they are decent enough, and apart from a slight on-screen lag, we can’t knock them. However, we don’t recommend chasing them up. Of course, if you need a song that is not in your collection and the alternatives are limited, go ahead.
Fill In The Gaps
There are some missing disc ID numbers (prefixes), but we do not know why this is just yet. Of course, Karaoke Info intends to include the complete international list of KP discs, and this would have to include the Latin discs.
Be that as it may, can you provide proof of “missing” English discs in this collection now?
So, if anyone would care to send in the details, please do. Indeed, we believe there may be as many as 150 discs in this series. But we need reliable information to confirm this.
To sum up, karaoke collectors need to know about the quality of these discs. For example, how do you think they sound? Moreover, are the on-screen graphics acceptable to you? Indeed, are they easy to obtain?
