DK Karaoke Introduction
Before we begin, this page mostly refers to the commercial discs from DK Karaoke. However, we also have information about the digital collection for your convenience.
A quick look at the list of discs below shows how massive the DK Karaoke collection is. There are also plenty of different series’ to collect.
Compared to other karaoke disc manufacturers, the DK Series is above average for the number of discs released.
By and large, we do know they have a lead melody, which they built into the tracks. That becomes obvious when you listen to a few of the karaoke tracks.
Many comments came in with the song lists suggesting that karaoke jockeys (KJs) liked this style.
In addition to the brand name ‘DK Karaoke’ on the discs, we see it includes ‘Edit-A-Disc’. Also, the discs have ‘Made In USA’ written on them. Moreover, they have a SPARS code of ‘DDD’ that ensures digital recordings from start to finish.
The Millennium Super CD+G discs have 900 karaoke tracks on them. As a result, they will not play with traditional karaoke players. In other words, you need another piece of equipment to use them. That could be a CAVS or RSQ machine. They may also play on your PC or laptop with a media player.
DK stands for Daiichi Kosho. They are a Japanese electronics and aircraft manufacturer founded in 1973. Their electronics arm specialises in karaoke equipment.
We are aware that DK Karaoke does not make karaoke discs anymore. As a result, the only way to get these discs is on the second-hand market. If you buy them this way, ensure the discs are in decent condition. That is because badly abused discs can cause all sorts of problems.
Member Participation
A while back, we asked people to send in their lists of karaoke discs. We also asked for their songbooks. Well, we wanted plenty of information! We knew the DK discs were popular amongst karaoke jockeys (KJs). But not in the numbers that gave a reply. Almost everyone who responded had some DK discs!
So, the feedback is promising. However, the DK Karaoke label is massive, so there is always the chance of missing something. With this in mind, contact us should you feel adjustments are necessary to our lists.
In brief, we compiled a list of all the karaoke disc ID numbers that KJs use. We also have a songbook to accompany the discs that you can use for gigging or cross-referencing.
DK Karaoke Discs
To clarify, here is the list of DK Karaoke discs that exist:
You may download the list of DK discs above, but the songbooks are for members only. Joining Karaoke Info allows you to access the songbooks and gives you other benefits while helping the community.
Available In Abundance
We found many used DK discs when we searched on eBay, but there were other examples elsewhere.
Generally speaking, they were pretty cheap, and the ones we saw were in good condition. Several DK Karaoke discs for sale have never been in use. Indeed, those had factory packaging too. So, with these DK discs seemingly on sale constantly, that’s all the more reason to keep a record of them.
However, ensure you ask what the condition of the discs is before you buy them second-hand. That is because the graphics can suffer if the discs have surface marks. Also, the discs can skip if they have scratches. Of course, this renders them useless for karaoke gigs or even home use. So, always aim for the best quality discs at all times. We also recommend a reliable backup system.
DK Karaoke Review
The opening splash screens on our samples were brilliant. If only all karaoke songs were like this.
They were smooth to roll out while revealing the company logo, song title, and writers.
Then, during the opening instrumental, we see a picture unfolding.
Not only do we see decent graphics at the beginning, but we also see them at the end and during instrumental breaks.
The on-screen lyrics were white and turned yellow as the song progressed. That was on a blueish/purple background, and this was a fine blend. However, our samples showed a few different colour combinations.
The choice of word font wasn’t the best, and because they have a shadow, that makes them the weakest link in an otherwise perfect karaoke series. Be that as it may, we are just being picky here because these DK karaoke discs are contesting for the top slot!
The choice of backing music was excellent. But what is noticeable about DK Karaoke tracks is the prominent, harmonious melody throughout. Those rhythmic notes ensure you don’t miss a beat while singing along to them! We also found that the lyrics matched the music perfectly.
The artwork on the CDGs and sleeves is not the best we’ve ever seen, but they are decent enough. Each series has different repetitive images. We show a couple of pictures here to represent them.
Karaoke Sample
Although we may use numerous songs for the review, we only provide one sample video to represent the label. So, the song sample for our video presentation is DK021-07 – Kenny Rogers – Lucille.

Desirability Factor
While we go on and on with some karaoke manufacturers giving good and bad points, we can’t fault these too much. Desirability factor? These discs have it all!
These karaoke discs are perfect for gigging and even better for use in the home on portable equipment.
What is important to us here at the Karaoke Info website is that we help you make better decisions as a disc collector. That is because your opinions count!
We saw many examples of these DK Karaoke discs on online auction sites. However, one day, they start to dry up and become rarer. With this in mind, is it better to look around for complete sets now? Also, are the DK Karaoke Millennium Super CD+G discs worth buying?
DK Karaoke Songbook (Discs & Digital)
Because the list of discs above is large, the songbooks are massive. They are dependent upon the format you need, of course.
However, the songbooks include tracks from the Super CD+G DVD. Even so, the two lists are very impressive. In short, click the link below to inspect the DK Karaoke songbook.
If you possess any DK karaoke discs, why not record yourself singing along to a song and post it in our Karaoke Showcase?
Like most big karaoke companies, you should expect dupes in the discs from this firm. However, we also have the digital library available in songbook form. Therefore, by using our songbooks, you can eliminate most dupes.

I love the DK Karaoke collection.
Great!
Yes, another brilliant karaoke label.
Zoom Karaoke is better by far, but these are good.

I own both DK Millennium discs.
The music is usually spot on and has a midi vocal guide that plays softly in the background.
The graphics are accurate, and some have funny stock photos.
Some songs are pitch-shifted.
I agree with the stock photos, but I never used DK enough to notice any pitch-shifting. That’s one of the reasons to try different versions if one doesn’t suit.
