Blue Tone LaserDiscs Introduction
We have details of two karaoke LaserDiscs from Blue Tone. Both discs contain 12 songs by The Beatles. Furthermore, they have guide-vocal tracks, too. So this means there are 48 tracks, but only 24 are traditional karaoke songs.
The A-sides are traditional instrumental karaoke tracks, but side B has separate vocal versions. Before we review these discs, we will print the prefixes below.
Blue Tone LaserDiscs List
- PBK97-003A
- PBK97-003A (With Guide Vocals)
- PBK97-003B
- PBK97-003B (With Guide Vocals)
The album goes by the name of Here, There and Everywhere. Of course, that is a Beatles song, also on these discs.
Blue Tone LaserDiscs Karaoke Review
The opening splash screen begins with the song title, artists and writers. There are countdown dots before the tracks start playing. The company name may appear, but it disappears quickly.
The white words turn blue as a prompt and keep their timing impeccably. Indeed, we didn’t find any song lagging, which is excellent because this part of any karaoke is vital.
However, the lyrics could have shown on the screen sooner for the faster tracks. But if you know the song, that’s fine.
The lyrics are shown on a video backdrop of various locations, which are all decent enough. However, they seem random. For example, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da features waterfalls!
The music and artwork are not as good as they could be, but these are old discs. Of course, if you are a Beatlemaniac, you may want them in your collection for the hell of it!
